Madeleine Ashby, Aaron H. Bynum, Armen Boudjikanian, Mark Mayerson, Jonathan Moy, Emru Townsend · From fps #9 · November 25, 2006 | Shirow Masamune's gorgeous intellectual,
Ghost in the Shell‘s Major Motoko Kusanagi, has been one of the sexiest characters since her manga inception. Motoko's a sombre realist who doesn't place her trust in anything tangible. She's had to fight and to struggle in order to get to where she wants to be, and that has made her strong. Ironically, there are numerous moments within the
Ghost in the Shell franchise where she exhibits little or no regard for her physical self—through careless sexual intercourse, an exclusion of good judgment, or embracing her workplace hazards. The Major is, nevertheless, an intimate mind and a sensuous being the animation industry cannot part with.
